Music for the convertible. For a ride, somewhere along a coast. Cruise, look – and enjoy the wonderful melody of this title.
Torcuato Mariano is a guitarist and songwriter born in 1963 in Buenos Aires – and a fixture on the smooth jazz scene. Smooth Jazz – for many demanding music consumers a red cloth: elevator music, flat, smooth, sterile. Music for people who don’t really have anything to do with jazz – but who want to pretend. That can be anything, but as always there are also quality exceptions. Like this one here. With “Last Look” the Argentinean has succeeded in creating a wonderful, dreamy song, in which he also proves his outstanding abilities as an acoustic guitarist. That the rest comes almost completely from the computer – a gift! During my various holiday trips through Andalusia the song was always on board – and always a highlight.
