What music can do. It can give you energy, it can supply you with adrenaline, it can calm you down or make you aggressive. And it can comfort you. Country star and super guitarist Vince Gill has released one of the most beautiful and touching consolations on the 2006 4 CD box “These Days”:

“Time To Carry On”. It’s about separation, pain of separation, wounds that eventually heal and disappear over time. “Angry words will be forgotten … the promise of tomorrow it will always remain … the pain is almost over … ” Vince Gill knows what he’s talking about. He once left his wife to start a new family with his colleague Amy Grant. For a sensitive guy – that he is sensitive, you can hear every note – must have been emotional hell for him. Maybe: hell and heaven at the same time – which is of course the ideal ground for a touching, deep and credible song. And that’s exactly what he wrote with “Time To Carry On”.
